Community Regeneration
As a prominent organisation in the Parkhead Community we endeavour to ensure there are a number of initiatives and projects to ensure that Parkhead is a vibrant place to live for our residents.
Parkhead Schoolhouse –
A major regeneration and development project brought to you by Parkhead Housing Association, in partnership with Parkhead Cross Townscape Heritage Initiative and the Glasgow Building Preservation Trust. Together, we have brought a local landmark back to life for the Parkhead community.
We are delighted to have the building open and in use to serve our local community. We have a range of fantastic tenants situated in the building providing vital services. Within the building you can find the following:
- Baillieston Community Care
- Playbusters
- Parkhead Youth Project
- Jobs & Business Glasgow
- Skills Development Scotland
We also have some outreach with our Welfare Rights Officer and Financial Inclusion Officer over at the School on a Tuesday and Thursday.
Furthermore we have some fantastic, versatile community space available to let. The Barony Room and The Attic are available for all kinds of community events, with the larger of the 2 rooms (The Barony) able to accomodate 110 theatre style.
The Drill Hall Pantry –
Parkhead Housing Association is delighted to be working alongside Fareshare and PDC to deliver a fantastic project for the East End of Glasgow. Our relationship with Fareshare gives us access to grocery brands you will find in the supermarkets for less. The Pantry food will consist of surplus stock, end of line products and incorrectly labelled food.
At a fixed cost of just £2.50 per visit you will receive approximately £15 worth of food. You will be able to chose the items you want from 5 food categories. There are no recurring payments and you can pay by cash or card.
To make the most of the ingredients you can purchase from the Pantry we will look to introduce the provision of recipes, cooking demonstrations and cooking classes all using the fantastic food supply from the Pantry.
As well as the Pantry at Parkhead Schoolhouse there are also a pop up location at 981 Shettleston Road.
