Parkhead Development Company is the subsidiary to Parkhead Housing Association Ltd providing in-house services throughout Parkhead.

We are currently looking to recruit a Community Cook and Pantry Assistant to work at Parkhead Schoolhouse and Drill Hall Pantry to help run a dynamic community food shop with kitchen, creating tasty and healthy food, and provide oversight and pastoral care for teams of trainees and volunteers. You will also work day to day within the pantry, supporting the community to access low cost food.

Working alongside the wider Pantry team and a group of volunteers, you will create meals for our two pantry shops and a programme of community meals to engage local people in cooking, healthy eating and to combat social isolation.

This role requires a flexible approach to some work evenings and weekends for pre-planned events throughout the year.

A key aspect of this role requires the postholder to be on-site during their work hours. Consequently, working from home or hybrid working is not available.

This is a varied and physically demanding role, and the post holder will require to be ‘hands-on’ with the day-to-day running of the Pantry.

To apply please submit a CV and short cover letter to> Recruitment@parkheadha.org.uk
