Parkhead Housing Association in conjunction with the Wheatley Group were delighted to welcome Co-Founder of Social Bite and homelessness campaigner Josh Littlejohn MBE to deliver the 4th Annual John Wheatley Lecture at the newly refurbished Parkhead Schoolhouse on 25th October 2018. The audience of invited guests from Civic Scotland enjoyed an informative and inspiring talk from the young social entrepreneur about his journey setting up Social Bite, a chain of cafes with a social purpose, the establishment of fantastic Sleep in The Park event and the creation of the innovative Housing First project.

Following his address Josh and local MP David Linden were subjected to some thoughtful and probing questions from our invited guests including a fantastic question from a local St. Mungo’s Academy pupil! PHA Chief executive Jim Strang said ‘again to attract a speaker of Josh’s calibre has been a real coup for PHA and see’s another high profile person visiting the East End of Glasgow. Josh’s speech was an inspiration to all young people who are aspiring to make a difference for the most vulnerable in our society’.
